PawWeather
Rain radar for dog owners

Dry paws, happy walks.

PawWeather answers the one question before every walk: Is there still time, or is the rain about to start? It's built on the radar of NOAA and the National Weather Service — for your exact spot, updated every two minutes.

Radar

The radar, right where you are.

Not a forecast for “this afternoon,” but the actual radar picture for your spot: Where is it raining right now, and how close is it to you? The map comes from our own server — viewing it sends nothing to map providers.

Notifications

Your walk window lets you know.

No need to stare at the radar: PawWeather tells you before the rain arrives — and when the next dry window opens.

01

Rain on the way

The alert comes before the storm cell reaches you — not once it's already dripping.

02

Window opens

A walk reminder when it stays dry long enough for your usual walk.

03

Quiet hours

How often, how early, and when not at all — you decide. Your phone stays silent at night.

Your dog

All about your dog.

Set breed and sensitivity, add your usual walks — and the assessment fits your dog, not just any dog. As a bonus, the app can put your breed on your home screen as its icon.

🌧️

Real-time radar

Precipitation radar for your spot, updated every two minutes — including Alaska and Hawaii. Gaps in coverage are shown as gaps, not as “no rain.”

📈

Rain timeline

One line shows when it starts and when it's dry again — at a glance, no radar reading required.

🔔

Notifications

Rain alerts, walk reminders and official weather alerts. With quiet hours, minimum spacing and a daily limit.

🐕

Breed & sensitivity

The assessment is tuned to your dog — guidelines for a healthy animal, not veterinary advice.

Walks

Save your usual walks — the app thinks in your routine, not in square miles. Temperatures in °F, wind in mph when your phone is set to the U.S.

🗺️

Map from our own server. No map provider looks over your shoulder: tiles, fonts and symbols are served by our own infrastructure.

Gaps are gaps — and labeled as such.

Radar has blind spots: at the edge of its range, in the mountains, and in remote areas. PawWeather shows them as gaps, not as “no rain.” Missing information isn't dry weather — and an app that blurs the difference fails exactly when you rely on it.

Every screen says where the data comes from. Values we compute are not official statements. In severe weather, follow the official alerts of the National Weather Service and your local authorities, and call 911 in an emergency. What exactly we process is in our Privacy Policy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do I need an account?

No. PawWeather works without sign-up, without an email address, without an advertising ID. Premium runs entirely through your App Store or Google Play account.

Where does the weather data come from?

From the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service (NWS): radar from MRMS, alerts from the NWS alert feed, and the hourly forecast from the National Blend of Models (NBM). Values we compute from them are not official statements. In severe weather, the official NWS alert applies.

How accurate is the forecast?

The radar shows where it is raining right now and is updated every two minutes. The hourly forecast for the next 24 hours comes from the National Blend of Models; like any forecast, it gets less certain the further ahead it looks. Radar has gaps at the edge of coverage and in the mountains — we show those gaps as gaps, never as “no rain.”

What happens to my location?

It leaves your device only to get the weather for that spot, and we neither store nor log it. For notifications we keep only a rough area cell of about 3 × 2 miles — never your coordinates. Details in our Privacy Policy.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone (iOS 17 or later) and Android (Android 12 or later).

How do I get rid of my data?

Tap “Delete everything” in the app's settings — it's gone immediately. “Export my data” gives you a copy first. Or just delete the app: the server-side registration expires on its own.
